We’re stepping faster into the sci-fi future than ever before, thus that demand for best possible modes to commute is surging with the day. In their realm to design cars for the future, thdudesign has conceptualized a jet-powered quad bike for travel and pleasure alike. The wheels on the magnet quad, as thdudesign calls it, are fixed with magnetic force, which allow them to move up and down near their axis and also function as suspension for the bike. We’ve seen a few jet-powered vehicles in our time, so the possibility of magnet quad making real cannot be ruled out, but when a render shows the bike in air, I wonder, is a flying bike feasible? Also, will a bike that shows no glazing of any kind for the rider be a wise proposition when the bike’s tail is spitting fire and the rider’s speeding at nth miles per hour?

YEE flying car concept is a new paradigm for future transportation

The modes of transport are going to switch from land to air in times to come, because the congestion in the city will make it almost impossible for one to commute through lanes. Keeping this thing in mind, three students (Pan Jiazhi, Zhu Wenxi and Lai Zexin) from the South China University of Technology has envisioned a concept car that could be turned into a plane once the operation is switched to the flying mode through transformation. This is made possible by upturning two front wheels sideways and two back wheels outside allowing people to fly over the overcrowded roads to reach their destination on time. Also, the integration of the propeller into the back wheels endues the vehicle with two distinct mobile modes. YEE is super cool and a stunning racer while on the ground but when it spreads out its back wheels and starts its propeller, it can fly along a special air route.

INETIC ENERGY RECOVERY

If you are planning on being an urban crime fighter but still can’t justify the gas guzzling tendencies of most superhero vehicles, well your ride has (conceptually) arrived. Designer Jean Baptiste Robilliard has rendered up this “CUSTOM BIKE CONCEPT” that would make Bruce Wayne’s attorneys take notice. Jean Baptiste describes it as a “two wheel muscle car”, hiding it’s electrical drivetrain and batteries in the frame. Featuring a FORMULA 1 inspired KINETIC ENERGY RECOVERY SYSTEM (KERS), that essentially coverts your braking into energy.

Originally conceived as a single global design, this customizable creation could be the shape of things to come.

Futuristic Motorbikes: Hybrid Individual Transport For China In 2020

Jamie Tomkins was challenged to create non-emission vehicle for this high and increasing populated country that meets the needs of urbanites as well as complying with Chinese government policy. After a research trip to China, Jamie developed vehicles based on a future concept of the city – the Beijing Boom Tower which is designed into three tiers or social classes. On the top tier live the wealthiest residents, in the center are the middle-classes, and at the bottom live the working class. A vehicle for each level was designed.

Jamie Tomkins took on the bottom level and looked at the ubiquitous Chinese bicycle as a starting point for his design. His hybrid bicycle has a metal and plastic frame with plastic detachable parts that can be changed to create a unique style. The use of plastic means the hybrid is lighter and with interchangeable parts it is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Concept Car Looks Like A Reverse Tricycle

Tricycles, Futurism, Futuristic Car, Future Car, hybrid vehicles
Here’s a really cool looking concept car made by a pure amateur found on Coroflot portfolios. The car doesn’t have a name or any specs, but the design was eye-catching enough to encourage us to reveal him to the public. Matus Prochaczka has a passion for automobile design and this concept car shows the passion to be one he works on.

The design brings back memories of our old tricycles we rode as children. Although there are two rear wheels, they are placed parallel from each other in one powerful design bust. If this guy hasn’t been picked up by a major company yet, he will be very soon.

Maybach Amphibious Luxury Vehicle Concept

We have seen a number of amphibious vehicles, and despite the obvious costs involved there isn’t much of luxury to speak of, even in concepts. If there really were a number of production amphibious vehicles, we guess the luxury line would have followed suit quickly, and along would have come something like this Maybach amphibious luxury vehicle concept.

Created by designer Tamas Siklosi, this amphibious Maybach Limousine concept works as a high-class luxury car on the land, and a trimaran ship with openable hard sails when in water. There’s a 1:5 scale clay model to go along with the design. The Maybach Limousine concept was displayed at the 2007 Autosaloon in Frankfurt.

This SUV concept puts the “Sports” part firmly in the utility vehicle. It has been created to be specially suited for carrying gear like mountain bikes and jet skis through rough terrain. The concept has a fairly interesting/ aggressive styling, and its open rear would likely not just provide a bay for carrying jet skis, but would also hold them firm, preventing unsightly scratches or hours of work gone into ensuring that the “cargo” remains placed firmly and securely. The SUV concept is the work of designers Mohammad Reza Shojaee, Iman Maghsoudi and Farzad Barkhordary.

Renault Presents Stunning Electric Range At Frankfurt

Electric vehicles of small proportions are beginning to emerge as the theme of this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, and the presentation of a comprehensive range of electric vehicles by Renault, dubbed the Z.E. range, was the clincher. Perhaps more important, was Renault’s commitment to begin selling its new Z.E. range at affordable prices in 2010.

From 2011, Renault will progressively roll out four electric vehicles, including two derivatives of internal-combustion vehicles. The first will be the electric version of Fluence which will initially be available in Israel and Europe. The second will be an electric version of Renault Kangoo Express, intended primarily for fleet and business use. The range of electric vehicles will then expand to cover other segments, with two vehicles that will be designed from scratch as electric vehicles. Derived from the Twizy Z.E. Concept, the third vehicle will target urban mobility. The fourth vehicle, which takes it inspiration from Zoe Z.E. Concept, will go on sale at the beginning of 2012 and will be a multi-purpose daily driver for built-up areas.

These four vehicles will cover a range of uses and customers who will nonetheless all have one thing in common: they will be entering a new era of zero-emission mobility.
