BMW Z X6 |Future is Near|

A team of students which worked closely with the people from BMW was asked to create a BMW for 2015. The result is the BMW ZX-6 Concept. This car can’t be compared with any other concept car made by BMW. The BMW Z X6 is a simple car, but with a very aerodynamic design.

This car would also be an amphibian vehicle. The whole design of the BMW ZX-6 Concept is pretty futuristic for anyone’s taste, but it can also be very appealing. The doors have an amazing opening system, something that was never seen before. Many people can’t believe that we have the technology to build a vehicle like the BMW ZX-6 Concept and that it could transform from a dream into a real car in a few years.

Eco-friendly Cars

Cars can be really convenient but they pose a serious threat to our environment if we use conventional fuels. However, new conceptual cars concentrate on how eco friendly the car can be, and thus green cars are far more in demand.

The CityAnts uses electric hubs in order to get the daily dose of fuel, and is clean and green.

Ahmad Moslemi Far has designed the Peugeot Globule which runs on electric motors. With an unconventional design, it does away with the idea that green cars look boring.

Aetek FYK by the Norwegian company almost looks like a race car but runs on natural and hydrogen gas. The powerful car is green and environmentally friendly.

Those who think that eco-friendly cars are not great to look at, must check out the RCA Concept Cars. They have been designed by the students of the Royal College of Arts.

Brilient Design | 2020 Concept Theory

Eco Factor: 3-seater car powered by lithium batteries.

Glimpses of the future have always attracted one and all. These visions get even more exhilarating if they show green and non-polluted urbanities. The “Mutant-X”, designed by Rajeev Nair, is one such car that has the potential to clean the future with its electric, zero emission engines.

The car can carry three passengers and is powered by a battery that powers the independent motors fixed on the wheels of the car. The car comes with thin wheel spokes, sharp rear view cameras, a center-mounted steering wheel with all touch sensitive multifunction displays, advanced passive safety systems and other safety features that include posture sensors and emotion sensors, which sound an alarm in the car if the person on the wheel gets lazy.

The vehicle also includes advanced cruise control, which enables the car to change its wheel base according to the speed at which it’s cruising. The rear wheels along with the extended wheel arc can shrink inside along the axis of the vehicle, thus changing its wheelbase, which betters the aerodynamics of the car, making it more energy-efficient. The car is intended for the 2020 market.

The Dark Side:

The technology included in the car would ensure a comfortable, safe and sustainable ride, but all this would come at a cost, which most people are not likely to be able to afford. However, if the cost factor is set aside the car could do wonders for places where high traffic and high CO2 levels will have made life miserable by the year 2020.

Peugeot 888 Concept Car ,Eco Friendly

Sergio Loureiro made my day with this concept, the Phoenix “Regeneration Passion”, which was his final project for the MA Vehicle Design Course at the Royal College of Art.

We’re dealing with an electric sportscar that’s based on alternate energy and its regeneration, by using kinetic watches, wind turbines, geothermic energy and even a … “sustainable dance floor” that absorbs the energy from the bouncing of the floor.

This baby can also turn, as it handles the curves as if it were a motorbike, well two bikes actually, plus a central kinetic axis (picture below).

The Phoenix is a concept two-seater that uses a front wind turbine to also generate a bit more energy, while slowing down. Even the suspension system generates energy with the aid of kinetic movement, so you’ll have plenty of electricity to toy with.

In the end, you’ll probably want to know that Sergio Loureiro created this beauty using “the wings of a bat ray” as an inspiration for the design.

A Robot Named Maryann Could Propel Us Into Space

Only three teams remain, competing for NASA’s latest $2 million prize for advancing space-elevator technology. Good thing one of them, the Kansas City Space Pirates, is using a fast-climbing robot and lasers shot through telescopes.

I love this news report about the K.C. Space Pirates, and “Maryann,” their climbing robot, which uses solar panels, and energy beamed from the ground via a laser beam shot through a special telescope, to climb half a mile up, on a cord attached to a helicopter hovering overhead. The D.I.Y. enthusiasm among these part-time innovators is breathtaking, and you gotta love an inventor who says things like:

So we’ll be beaming more energy to our robot in this competition than has ever been beamed to a remote moving device ever. We’ll be setting a variety of world records as we proceed in this competition.

This $2 million prize is for wireless power transmission, the second half of the Space Elevator Games — the first half being a “Tether Challenge” to create a material strong enough to carry materials into space.

DeltaWing Indycar concept takes open wheel racing to a new level

Taking open wheel racing to a new level, from both an engineering standpoint and the overall spectator experience, DeltaWing LLC of Indianapolis has popped up an IndyCar concept at the Chicago Auto Show that looks a hybrid of a Batmobile, land-speed racer and a rocket ship. Finished in carbon fiber using recycled polyethylene, the sports car is not only light in weight but also helps in sustaining the environment. Featuring a Delta Wing attached to the aerodynamic structure, the concept car produces 300 horsepower and reduces its weight in a huge way to set a new mark in performance.
