Performance Cars

Sometimes conceptual cars are noticed for their performance than the design. Even if they look really good and outlandish, they would be known more for their special abilities.

Nissan Rotating Car Concept is allows you to rotate the car by 360 degrees and thus you can move forward, backward or wherever. It allows lateral movements.

The Ferrante V Concept pays tribute to the 1967 Chevy Impala and is a great looking car indeed. More than that, it packs a performance power that most cars do not.

Jaguar C-X75 range-extended electric..

Jaguar recently unveiled its C-X75 Conceptcar. The presentation took place right before the opening of the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

It is worth mentioning that the electric hybrid vehicle marks the 75th anniversary of iconic Jaguar design. In addition, Jaguar C-X75 is meant to provide a look into the future of car-making technology.

The two-seater eco-friendly supercar boasts a propulsion system that combines two small micro gas turbine engines, offering 140 kW. The engines can be powered by LPG, diesel, biofuel or natural gas.

Besides, the four electric motors that deliver 145 kW are connected to a lithium ion battery pack to increase the car’s range up to 900km (560 miles).

Boasting zero emissions when using only battery power, Jaguar C-X75 will emit just 28 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer when running on full power.

It is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph (62mph) in 3.4 seconds, having a top speed of 330kph (205mph). The vehicle also reaches 145kph from 80 kph in 2.3 seconds.

Apart from being eco-friendly, the car is also very lightweight. This is because engineers made analuminum construction that makes use of over 50 percent recycled metal content.

2009 Aprilia FV2 1200 Concept

What better technical and sporting heritage could there be behind the Aprilia FV2 1200 concept bike? The FV2 1200 embodies the latest Aprilia technology and reveals the direction likely to be taken by technical and stylistic development at Aprilia in the near future.

The heart of the FV2 1200 is Aprilia's mighty, 1200 cc, 90° V twin, a power plant that confirms Aprilia's determination to develop high capacity, high technology engines using in-house skills and competence.

The minimalist bodywork of the FV2 1200 creates a stunning preponderance of volume towards the front of the bike. The result is a revolutionary, courageous and futuristic look that is destined to form the solid basis for the evolution of Aprilia motorcycle styling.

The engine also fulfils a structural role, and acts as the starting point for the backbone of the motorcycle, a carbon fibre, load bearing frame with integrated filter box. The seat is supported by an aluminium beam and by two carbon fibre struts that extend into the tail and around the rear light cluster. The parallelogram front suspension is based on the system already tried and tested on Aprilia's 250 cc GP racers.

These futuristic solutions have led to an amazing weight reduction (the FV2 1200 weighs under 160 kg) and an extremely compact size. The extraordinary agility that has always typified Aprilia motorcycles therefore finds its utmost expression in the FV2 1200.

The 1200 cc V twin engine is liquid cooled and boast a ride-by-wire control system. Traction control, a latest generation ABS system and electronic suspension management are also provided to let you ride at your performance peak while maintaining complete control over the bike.

The Aprilia FV2 1200's dashboard incorporates a multi-functional instrument cluster that can be interfaced not only with the bike's own CAN line but with a PC too, making it possible to download telemetric data for personal performance evaluations, reconfigure the information shown on the matrix display, load new mappings from the internet, display itineraries, and integrate GPRS and GSM modules for mobile phone connectivity.

Mily Concept Car|The Future is Near

mily concept car, futuristic design, futuristic car, futuristic vehicle, futuristic transportation

Is this the next car to star in Transformers ? The Star Wars ? The Wall E ? No. This is a futuristic design from a young Russian designer. The concept is called Mily, and wow he sure is a budding designer.

mily concept car, futuristic design, futuristic car, futuristic vehicle, futuristic transportation

Rear not the best view

The young Russian designer who has developed this model apparently spent just over 4 days on the design and development, and as incredible as it may seem, I would still like to see these things actually being built as a prototype rather than mere sketches and CG images.

It even gets upward opening doors

Too bad that not even 1% of these designs and ideas from budding designers and pre-professionals make it to the roads.

Wow there seems to be a Sports version as well !

The car seems expensive and obviously looks to be a city car. Although I do like the special look of the car, once again it will probably be another one of those millions of images that translates to nothing. Hope it is different, but very unlikely!

Eco Factor: Concept bus powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

The Credo E-Bone concept bus is the brainchild of designer Peter Simon, who wants to make public transportation greener. The E-Bone is a zero-emission bus that generates power from a system of hydrogen fuel cells and lithium batteries. Powered by four in-wheel electric motors, the bus carries its power sources on its roof.

The shell of the bus has been made from lightweight composite plastic with a bone-like structure. The lightweight construction makes the concept energy-efficient, which betters its performance.

Lamborghini X Concept

Emil Baddal didn’t seem to like the Lamborghini Reventon supercar, so the talent Iranian artist created his own view of the vehicle, known as the Lamborghini X Concept. Who needs a complicated branding for such a beautiful concept car?

Lamborghini X Concept Supercar, What Reventon Could Have Been...

The front of the supercar looks great, but I have to say that Lamborghini X is a tad bulky and its wheels are far too big to be practical. Also, the concept is square-ish and it lacks the sensuality and curves that were present (although a little bit) on the latest Lamborghini models.

Since Lambos are usually associated with bulls, I’d have to compare the X with a shark, simply by having a look at its front side. How many horse power would one hide under this beast’s carbon fibre chassis? Would this defeat a Veyron? How about a GTR?
