Combining the raw look of a F1 car with dramatic design and customary craftsmanship, Auckland entrepreneur Jock Freemantle collaborating with New Zealand’s Massey University has come up with a radical car that promises a thrilling driving experience. Called Hulme CanAm, after renowned New Zealand F1 champion, Denny Hulme, the high performance car is scheduled to launch (limited edition) in 2010. Generating power from a hand-built 7 liter Chevrolet V8, capable of producing 600 horsepower, the Hulme CanAm will reach the top speed of 198 MPH in less than three seconds. Just amazing! To ensure high speed and exceptional performance, the carbon fiber monocoque weights less than 1,000 kg. The Hulme CanAm comes in both track and road versions for professional as well as amateur riders. It’ll be available across Europe and the Middle East for a whopping $700,000.
