Ducati Mega Monster 2011 – New Heavy Bike

The motorcycle is already unofficially called – Ducati Vyper or Ducati Mega Monster. Despite the fact that most sites used to characterize the photos, the term spy shots, the experts suggest that in fact it is intentionally stuffing information from the Ducati, which wants to advance in such a way to arouse interest in its novelty.

Motorway police IG says bikers will have to obtain special permit beforehandLAHORE: It was a visual treat for all and sundry with a colourful display of sophisticated heavy bikes at the Ravi Toll Plaza, as a rally was held to mark the grant of permission to bikers to run on the motorway for the first timThe National Solidarity Rally started from the toll plaza and culminated at the Bhera interchange, escorted by motorway police and the media. Members of the bikers’ association termed it a positive gesture by the authorities, saying they had been seeking permission to allow motorbikes on the motorway for a long time. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Information Syed Sumsam Bukhari said motorbikes had indeed been allowed on the motorway, which commenced with the rally on the Pakistan Day, adding, however, that it was still a pilot project. He appreciated the National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) for doing an excellent job of serving the people.Registration: NH&MP Inspector General Dr Wasim Kauser said motorbikes of 500CC and above – with bikers aged 25 and above only – had been allowed on the motorway with special kits, adding a biker would first have to obtain registration from the authority and only then would be allowed to ride on the M2 (Lahore and Islamabad). He said the NH&MP would also conduct a “fitness” test for each bike and then grant permission to it. The IG said under the standard operating procedure heavy bikes were being allowed in the first lane while they would have to take the second lane to overtake. He said this was a pilot project and bikers would be banned if they created problems on the motorway. Fines and tickets would also be imposed in case of over-speeding and other violations, he added. Motorway-2 Deputy Inspector General Dr Muhammad Shafiq said bikers would be allowed to ply on the motorways after fulfilling a registration, route and fitness criteria. staff report

The first bike we ever tested, about 100 years ago, was the Suzuki V-Strom. It’s a great bike, with a wonderful engine, surprisingly good handling and looks only its mother could love. And now here we are testing the runt of the litter, the V-Strom 650. And what’s changed? At first glance very little. It’s still enormous, still as practical as ever and still as ugly as a drunken brawl. In fact, the only obvious difference between siblings is the single exhaust on the smaller bike and a slightly less leery colour scheme.Taking the 650 V-Strom home, then, was likely to be something of an anticlimax. Especially as over the last few weeks I had mainly been riding the GSX-R 1000 tested elsewhere. One extreme to the other, you might say. And you’d be dead right, of course. And completely wrong. Because, despite its bulk and relatively small engine, the 650 V-Strom is not a slow bike. Not by any means.That little motor, more commonly seen in everyone’s favourite first big bike the SV650, may only produce 66ps but it does it in style. I am pushed to remember the last time I rode a vee twin that revved this happily and I certainlycan’t think of one this small that went this well.Let’s look at the downsides, because there must be some. And there are. The SV650 is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a pretty bike. Understatement. It’s as ugly as sin. Happily, though, it is also nearly as much fun. The only other criticism I have is also aesthetic and purely down to my own taste and memory. If the term ‘plastic maggot’ means nothing to you then please feel free to skip this bit.
