Conceived by auto designer Adrian Carrera and inspired by half a dozen sources, The Carrera Raptor RS is an electric powered racing GP motorcycle. It is powered by a pair of electric motors placed inside the whole shape of each tire. Further, the rim in each tire holds an internal rim which rotates with the tire and brake disc. And, in order to turn bike on the curves, biker has to lean in the desired direction.
The movement of front tire, however, isn’t controlled with the handle bar, like in the conventional bikes, but electronically, using the controls on the handle. Moreover, the front tire can also rotate in its own axis using a gyroscope rotation system. Motorcycle’s user interface is a multi-touch display that can be moved across the upper chassis, and is adaptive to racer’s needs.
Apart from the control buttons, handlebar also has an inverted wing shape, which is a spoiler to provide stability at the high speeds. The racer can also control bike’s aerodynamic and stability by increasing or decreasing its height as per speed, moving the center of gravity by means of the pivots in the lower front and lower back of the central chassis.
