Combining gaming and social networking with real-life driving, General Motors has come up with a car concept dubbed “Car Hero” to attract generation Z brought up with gaming consoles, cellphones and other mobile gadgetry by their side. Designed for the 2009 Design Challenge held by the LA Auto Show, the futuristic car takes driving to the virtual world to challenge your skills. The Car Hero features easy controls, all the rider need to do is enter the destination into the navi app on his/her smartphone and let the vehicle do the rest. As soon the as the rider get dexterous, the vehicles unlocks the control so he/she could take the charge of the autonomous system. The transmorphable structure of the car challenges the driving of the rider by gradually varying from a four, to three, to a single wheeled vehicle. Moreover, the vehicle includes P2P applications, such as Friends Drive, where anyone can catch the vehicle for a digital joyride.
