We’ve seen more floating cars than wheeled hybrids lately, so maybe it’s a sign that future is nigh, unless Skynet and Terminators have something to say about it. Honda Fuzo is one of these floating vehicles, a “Vertical Take-Off and Landing concept” to be more precise and this work belongs to designer John Mahieddine.
Honda Fuzo relies on 4 high power turbines for horizontal flight and it can reach a speed of 350 mph. You’ll control the strange vehicle via 2 joysticks, for speed, trust and steering, each of them placed on the side of the driver’s seat (on the armrests). The left controller spins the hovercar on its axis, while the one on the right handles the tilt and direction.
Normal in-car pedals are on the floor and you should also know that Fuzo uses a Fly-by-Wire system, based on GPS and stopping cars from hitting each other. This concept Honda’s airbags open inside and outside of the vehicle, for extra protection and the incredible vehicle is made out of carbon fibre, carbon nano tubes and… Kevlar.
Incredible is the word for it!
