Ancient creatures or species have been a great source of inspiration for modern designers. Motivated by the stone creatures of Perspolis, an ancient palace in Shiraz, Iranian industrial designer Behzad Hormoz has come up with a car concept dubbed “SPHINX,” a mix of several animals, which generates power from the middle engine for a smooth and swift ride. Featuring the scissor-like doors that open like the wings of an eagle, the single-seater touts a glass roof which slides back to let the driver in and out with ease. The body of the super car is finished in aluminum, which makes it lightweight, while the strength comes from carbon fiber chassis.
